After doing a little research, I'm either going to keep my P&S or maybe just maybe upgrade to the Nikon P7000. It gives me RAW capability, decent performance and the size is just a hair larger then typical P&S cameras.
The price is about 450 and so now I'm grappling with the fact will I use it after my vacation. if that is the case, then I can justify the 450, if I go back to my D70s then its a waste of money. At some point I was going to start saving up for a successor to my D70s as that's getting a little long in the tooth. Again, if I drop 450 on a new camera, it makes less sense to get a new DSLR. So many factors so many options arrrrggghhhh :)

If you visit the Network settings in System Preferences using the 3rd button next to the plus and minus you can tell OS X which connections to prioritise over others.

that's strange. I have a dual 1.8 G5 and that delivers about 200 points per day easy (both procs together), when it's folding 24/7. I have a 2.0 P4 at work and that's doing a bit less then 1 1.8 G5. So, with your setup:
dual 2.4 = 200 points
3.6 Xeon = 150 points.
But you probably don't have a dual script installed on the dual 2.4? And does these computers have hypertrading?? If so, then folding only uses 50% of your computing power.

The stock analysts have target prices on Apple as high as $550.
I have absolutely no doubt that will happen, so I am holding my large position in Apple.
A broker can give you suggestions how to buy without a SS#.
The OP has suggested that he doesn't want investment advice, i.e., the wisdom of putting all of his money in one stock thats at an all time high, but rather how can he actually go about purchasing the stock using US dollars without a social security number.

I've always heard the 6pin variant referred to as FW600 while FW400 was reserved only for the mini 4pin which doesn't have power. I realize it may not be technically correct but it's always allowed easier differentiation between the two connectors.
I've always heard of the 4-pin being referred to as iLink on Sony devices or mini firewire everywhere else.
I thought FW400 and 800 refer to the speed, so 600 makes no sense to me at all.

My mouse (Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0) show far less mouse acceleration in Lion compared to Snow Lion.
I haven't read anything about this so I guess it's something on my end? Or does other people get similar behavior in Lion?
No problems with my Magic Mouse.

Really? Quicktime is pretty amazing for professional filmmaking. The Quicktime X player sucks though.

In 90% of what we say, does it have any point to it? You say, "Hello." What's the Point? You already know that you know them, and they know that you know them; therefore is there any point in saying hello, if you can just smile, showing you've acknowledged them. When you make a mistake don't get down about it - laugh it off, it'll "lengthen our own life"; however, if you laugh at a person who made a mistake, you'll make them get down about it, therefore, "shortening their's." It also may be referring to suicide, but I haven't read the context - Hellhammer, Herdfan: if you feel you're about to commit suicide, DON'T listen to Adele. :)
Basically, don't laugh at other people's mistakes; both of them were innocent mistakes - there's no need to point them out - they know what they did, even if it's subconscious - we know what they mean.

The Mac Mini, iMac and Macbooks will all be updated some time soon. The Mac Mini and Macbook will get Core i3 @2.1GHz, with the Intel HD 3000 GPU. iMacs will have a base model with Core i5. The Mini and Macbook will be far more powerful than they are now - the Core 2 Duos are outdated now. It also depends on whether you have got your own keyboard, mouse and display. If you have, and you're happy to use them, the Mac Mini will probably save you a bit of cash.
