I think its pretty obvious the OP just made this whole story up to get attention.
Nonetheless, the way HR policies work anymore, people won't have their paychecks "docked" for cash shortages. Loss Prevention will investigate the cash shortage, the kid will most likely be exonerated of theft and given a "first and final warning." BB is a big company and they won't typically fire someone for a first offense...although the kids day certainly would have been ruined with the stress of the investigation and implied allegations.
So while I personally believe the OP just did this to get a rise, the amount of absolute ignorance and naivete of the remaining posters here is laughable. You people really need to put away your pitchforks and torches and get some common sense.

I think Macbook Pros will be updated at MWSF. Also, doubt the true video iPod will be out by then... all the designs being thrown around look too high-tech for now, and issues with scratches on the touch screen will have to be taken care of as well. I'd say more like Holiday 2007 for that~
If it takes that long before C2D finds its way into the MBP, I think Apple will be laughed at by a lot of the other manufacturers who have already announced models due before the holiday season.

Out of curiosity how built up is your area? Is this a neighbour you've spoke too before? I think I'd feel worse if one of my neighbours stole something rather than some thief I never met before. That said they're mostly old folk, Paul Scholes and a pub so I don't expect any of them to steal from me!
Anyway. I can't wait to hear how this ends. It sounds like it's all going to work out if you can just get the police into that house. Surely you'll be able to prove it's yours there and then by some serial number, hard drive key or something?

The houses around here are pretty well spread out. I drove around in my car and determined that about 10 houses are in range of my wireless network. Three across the street, my house and the two next-door neighbors, three houses on the street behind mine and two houses on a side street.
Of these houses, I know all three families across the street, they would not break into my place, nice families. Two of the houses on the street behind me are either for sale or undergoing renovations so that eliminates them. The third house is this 80 year old man who I would guess still has a black and white TV and can walk about as fast as a snail. Don't think he's the burglar type.
The other couple of houses are the ones I don't know the neighbors. One has some teenage kids (I believe) and that is the one that always seems to be home or having the TV on when my 360 is on my network.
Right now, I'm just hoping that whoever has it doesn't try to get rid of it before the cops can get over there and check things out.
And yes, it will be fairly easy to prove it is mine. The serial number is on the back and even if they scratched it off, you can get to it via the settings in the Dashboard. I also have reciepts for the system, wireless adapter, controllers, play and charge kit, and most of the games.

On keynote days, i generally set my homepage to the appleevents page, and make sure I dont go to any other sites that day. Then I just wander over to my local starbucks high speed hotspot in downtown auckland and watch the whole stream in H.264 :cool:
I hate finding out what will be released until after i have seen the keynote - Its like someone killing a movie for you, by telling you the twists just before you go see it. This way it's fresh, and you listen to Jobs' every word with anticipation

Just spoken to the Apple Store in the UK (hosted in Ireland I guess from the accent!).
Apple haven't confirmed but they strongly suspect their will be similar discounts to those offered in the US.
Guess I'll have to be patient and order in Friday!

Sec I have no reason to troll!!! I have been a member of this forum since and even though I have never really posted anything I have found wealth of knowledge over the years from people in these forums. Your morality is unfair to question given how the majority of people may have done the same thing (Meaning, "Who are we to judge?"). Your stupidity, however, is quite evident, and those are the ones who usually end up paying for their crimes one way or another. Karma is, in fact, a b@tch. A slider like that only makes sense on a touch interface, where you would physically move it. A user would drag it along with a finger. Very "organic".
Animation for sake of animation is pointless. With a mouse, it is counter intuitive, when all users are used to "pushing" or "depressing" the button in.
What about using the magic trackpad to "slide" the selection? Perhaps engaging "Tap to Click" then sliding the bar with the trackpad.
My Magic Trackpad was collecting dust until the release of Lion DP's. OS X 10.7 is definitely making more use of the multi-touch features of the track pad.

Hello all! This is an interesting debate... I think both OSes will be powerhouses by the time they're released. However... Microsoft's upping the ante with Windows 8, it seems. IMO, scapegoating McDonalds only cheapens the issue. Now if you want to talk about the EMPLOYEES responsibilities for ensuring a safe environment for customers, that is another issue that I will fully support.

stop appreciating the Name of the game instead of the game itself...this game is awful. You're making excuses and justifying the stupid **** that the game has and dealing with it.
When you're playing a game and players start spawning directly behind you and shooting you in the back EVERY SINGLE MATCH, its time to realize that the game sucks.
When you're playing a WAR game and cannot be a successful sniper in it, its time to realize the game sucks.
The maps are too small and the Spawns suck causing multiplayer to blow. If you want to make excuses for all the nonsense and frustration in the game and play on...then have at it. But the game is not nearly as good as Modern Warfare 2.

To EACH THEIR OWN, personally, I was not a fan of Modern Warfare 2 but I like Black Ops. I also love Bad Company 2 which does allow sniping. For me, Black Ops and MW2 are both very arcadey shooters. I expect running and gunning and no realism. It's all down to twitch controls and covering mechanics with teammates.
I would say that you are more likely to get "sniper" kills on Hardcore mode as their is no kill cam and pretty much instantaneous deaths. Regardless, as in real life, if you are in a CQB situation (which most of these maps in Black Ops are) you are going to run the risk of getting stabbed/shot/bitch slapped in the back if you are concentrating on the other end of the street while staring down a scope. You do have the option to watch your back with: claymores, friends, or the sticky cam.
Please above all, calm down. Oh, and have a great day :)

I expect it to be updated within a month with a silent update when inventories of Yonah MacBook Pros are moderated. It wil have 802.11n installed but will not be supported until Airport super extreme or whatever is formally updated in November. Or perhaps on OSX 10.5 software update in 1-07.

This will be the last "really impressive" processor upgrade for 2+ years into the future. Remaining improvements will be in features, communications, integration, sooftware, etc. The processor will become a gently updated commodity. This will be the first time ever, regular people will stop waiting for their computer to work, even when using multiple applications.
OSX wil be updaed to 10.5 of course as this is the central theme of 1-07. Related to this we will see updates of iApps to take advantage of new features and increased integration.
iPhone will be announced. Candy Bar format. Cingular as carrier with one of those rebranding agreements. Possibly even before Christmas.
There will be a separate media event for iTV and the iPod allscreen. That unit will be the center of a human's universe, Steve's dream of his lifetime. Phone/broadband, iPod, PDA, remote, OSX lite, everything except wiping your butt. Third parties will release that feature as a dongle. You will think you are Picard on ST-TNG.
